Every year, the town of Hoboken puts on a fantastic special event designed to celebrate the talent and culture of Hoboken and its surrounding areas: the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival. It’s a gigantic celebration that shuts down Washington St., the main thoroughfare through Hoboken, and features local bands and musical talent, as well as artists and machinists from throughout New Jersey and New York. They also have the widest variety of different foods and drink to enjoy, including some of the best homemade root beer you’ll ever have! So many people came out to enjoy the fun and festivities that I just had to take a picture to show you all.
At the same time, Stevens Institute of Technology had their own festival on the same weekend: Boken. It’s Stevens’ own version of a festival, and happens over a period of several days, each day taking a specific theme. For instance, this year was “The Great Boken Road Trip”, with each day featuring a different region of the US. There was so much excellent food, fun games, and live performances right on the Stevens campus. They even had a fireworks display out over the Hudson for a finale, which my friend just happened to have recorded!
Until next time,
Michael
