One Year Ago Today

Hello readers and anxiously waiting students! I’ve been there, believe me: Nervously awaiting any news of acceptance into college. In fact, it was one year ago today that I myself received my acceptance letter to Stevens Institute of Technology!

I wish you luck in your college endeavors, and congratulations to those who are accepted!

St. Patrick's Day Arrives Early in Hoboken

Just last week, Hoboken kicked off St. Patrick’s Day with the town’s official St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Even though the day itself hasn’t yet arrived, the rumor is that the true Irish start celebrating two weeks before, and end two weeks after. Everyone from the surrounding towns and New York City floods into Hoboken, raring for some fun, excitement, and camaraderie.

One of my friends happened to be there with his high definition camera, and got some of the parade on tape!

Stevens Scavenger Hunt!

Last week, several of the Resident Assistants organized a Hoboken Scavenger hunt. All night, the participants, myself and my friends included, combed Hoboken for certain items, including but not limited to: dressing someone up as Quail Man from the TV show “Doug”, following a sign exactly as it dictates, and getting both Snooki and her boyfriend to show up at Stevens.

Unfortunately, none of the teams were able to fulfill the latter challenge, but we were able to complete the other two mentioned!

Everybody loves Valentine’s Day!

 

Love is in the air at Stevens, and in true SIT fashion, an anonymous group placed a token of Valentines Day in front of the “Torch Bearers” Statue which adorns the lawn just east of the The Samuel C. Williams Library. And, of course, the Engineers of Stevens couldn’t simply create a stylized ornament; they went all out and made an anatomically correct Saran Wrap heart.
