At 6:00 AM on Thursday, January 27, the SIT students and faculty received the following text message: “Classes Cancelled and Offices Closed”. How awesome is that? An entire day to play in the snow…my first official SIT snow day! When I looked out the window from Davis Hall, I saw that the campus was covered in a thick blanket of powdery snow. My friends and I decided to meet at Pierce Dining Hall to plan our course of action for the day. Since we had all day, we decided to create an awesome snow sculpture: a Companion Cube from Valve’s Portal, on the Schafer Lawn.
Our awesome little Companion Cube!
While we were building our sculpture, we discovered that other like-minded students got a head start. Some had built a life-sized Yoshi, sitting in one of the Stevens' Adirondack Chairs.
A group of mechanical and civil engineers made a veritable snow castle, complete with parapets and a second internal level.
After building all day, we ended the night with the most epic snowball fight ever.
Can’t wait till my next snow day!
