I have been
waiting since November for this day.
Around Thanksgiving, I was in CJ’s (Colonel John’s, the on-campus deli) with my friend and I saw on the sandwich special schedule, “Hot Pilgrim”. Aside from the fantastic name, the sandwich sounded delicious: Turkey, Stuffing, and Cranberry sauce with Sweet Potato Fries. I was super busy on the day that the sandwich was offered, and missed out. I’m aware of about 2 or 3 other times that the Hot Pilgrim has been on the menu since then; my friend always notifies me when it’s the special of the day. On all of those dates, I have been too busy with class to go to CJ’s.
I checked my phone after my thermo class today to find a text: "HOT PILGRIM!!!!"
Things finally lined up (which is interesting because it also snowed today... in April) and I was able to try it out. It was well worth the wait. Here's a picture, although it definitely doesn't do it justice.
