My "Techie" Post

I don't know if it's because I go to a tech school and have officially been converted to a "techie" or whether it's a situation all college students deal with... but I feel like I have to CONSTANTLY check my email all the time! The phone I just got lets me check my email, so now I can even check it when I'm not at my computer! Whether it's a Student Announcement, sports team email, or anything else, emails have become something I have to check 24/7!

Now, as a student I get an email account through Stevens. However, Pipeline (the web portal to check the emails) limits the capacity of emails it can hold, basically the server will only allot each student a certain amount of memory.

Now, because I get so many emails, I was convinced by my friends to get a Gmail account. I HIGHLY recommend it! Now, I can send check and send emails from any computer at any time with any email address that I set up to sync with my gmail account. I also have a much bigger amount of alotted memory.

I know this is a very "techie" post, but it's true!

Myth Busted

I owe this experiment to my grandpa. He sent an email to my family with a video from the internet of people popping popcorn by putting their cell phones in a circle and calling it. The magnetic field "caused" the popcorn kernels to pop in the video.

Me, being bored and interested, decided to speedwalk back to campus and try it with some friends.

Unfortunately, our experiment was not successful. We were not able to pop some popcorn with our cell phones. Apparently, it is a myth... wish I had known that sooner! haha
