Gear and Triangle is an organization on campus that I am a part of. According to our website, it is "an honorary, non-secret society founded on the principles of Honor, Fellowship and Spirit. These are essential qualities of the true Stevens man and woman and the successful engineer".
Furthermore, "the purpose of Gear & Triangle is two-fold. First, to honor those who have demonstrated their ability and leadership in the extracurricular field and second, by initiating those leaders to foster a better and stronger college spirit at Stevens."
The leaders on campus that I have most admired have been part of this organization, so I was extremely happy when I was asked to join last year.
My role in the organization currently is as Co-Spirit Chair. Take a wild guess who is the other spirit chair... none other than my identical twin sister Lauren! We are the first co-spirit chairs in the history of G&T! WOOHOO!
Us and our committee are responsible for trying to (as the title suggests) get the campus community more involved and excited about the events going on around campus. Last year the spirit chair held a pep rally at the beginning of the year. This year we've got some really great ideas and I can't wait for our initiatives to happen!
Anyways, we recently initiated our newest class and below is the picture we took with our new members!
P.S. More information about G&T can be found at www.stevens.edu/gt
In Honor, Fellowship, and Spirit,
Ellyn
