I AM DONE WITH FINALS!
I must say that this was the toughest semester. Junior year (in my opinion) was the most demanding of all the semesters here. I am glad I am done with it yet, I'm not acclimated to the fact that it means I am a senior now :/
If you have been following my blog, you'll remember that at about this time last year I took a road trip to Texas with some friends. Furthermore, if you paid attention carefully, you'll remember that the road trip went awry and I actually only made it to Memphis.
Unfortunately, I had a similar (but not as traumatic) experience this year. I think my sister and I are jinxed when it comes to trips.
My sister, my teammate (Sam), and I decided to take a trip to Washington DC. The US National Field Hockey team was playing a game against Argentina on American University's field. It was to prepare the teams for the World Cup that will be happening this summer. Information can be found here.
It was particularly cool to see the game, because the our field hockey team traveled to Argentina after my freshmen year. To go over to Argentina and hear about their National team and then be able to watch them play our National team was a real treat. I enjoyed it a lot!
The hiccups in the trip occurred on the way to DC. We decided to take a bus from NYC into DC, because it is cheap and is less stressful than driving ourselves. I'm not going to go into specific details, but let's just say that our bus was delayed 2 hours for various reasons. After finally arriving in DC and trying to navigate our way through the Metro (DC's version of the subway) and then finding American University's campus, we were late to the game which was a bummer. However, once we got to the game, we got to see some high level field hockey.
Luckily for us, the trip back had no delays and we made it back to good old New Jersey on time.
(I guess Murphy's Law is true: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong").
Despite the little dilemmas, it was totally worth and I am so happy I went :)
