Sorry to have not blogged recently, but THAT has been my week!
(Plus, I have been outside as much as possible enjoying the nice weather!)

The Beginning of Bokenopoly

Today is the beginning of Boken. For those who don't know what it is... it is a week long of events sponsored by the Entertainment Committee. It has a lot of fun events that students can go to and relax and have fun.

Last year the theme was Bokenstock and this year the theme is Bokenopoly.

For your comedic entertainment, I have attached some videos of me and some other girls going down the assortment of slides for the Waterworks event that was held today. None of us planned on actually participating and doing any of the activities (especially because it was raining), but it looked so fun that we couldn't help ourselves!

I Teetered and I Tottered

Today I teeter tottered for a cause!
In Layman's terms, I see-sawed.

No I did not see-saw just for fun. My sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma, and a fraternity here at Stevens, Sigma Phi Epsilon, participated in our annual philanthropy event, Teeter Totter.

In a nut shell, members of both Greek organizations see-saw nonstop for 24 hours (so yes, ALL THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT!). We do this in hopes of having the passerbys donate to our cause as they walk by. Our cause is for the Phi SIgma Sigma Foundation which supports the National Kidney Foundation, and Sig Ep's cause is to fight youth aids.

We started the event on Palmer Lawn yesterday at 6pm (in the rain) and it concluded at 6pm today at Pier A [the teeter totter gets moved early this morning for a little change in scenery].

I apologize for my blogging absence.... In my defense, it has been a rough couple of days!

Currently, I look like this:

I had my wisdom teeth out on Friday and have been recovering ever since!
Not only did the oral surgeon steal my wisdom (ha), but I am also very swollen from the procedure.

Plus, I am observing Passover, so it makes my diet that much harder!

Anyways, it is going to be a very eventful week, so I promise to post again soon!

Stressful, field hockey fun, and famous times

Stressful
Every semester around this time is when I fear I am going to get gray hair early. Why, you may ask? WELL, it is called SCHEDULING! Making my schedule for next semester is a pain (ask any student at Stevens!). From trying to fit classes around practice, trying to get all the classes I need to graduate, and trying to squeeze in some masters classes are really a pain and require time of deliberating which schedule is best. Thankfully, I was able to make a schedule that doesn't conflict with any of my outside activities!

Field Hockey Fun
Spring season (nontraditional season) is almost over. Our spring season culminated into a tournament against division 1 teams: Rutgers, LaSalle, and Drexel. The tournament was this Saturday. Overall, we held our own as we do every year. We are really lucky to have the opportunity to play division 1 teams, because we are a division 3 program.
I had a big learning season, meaning it was one of the most frustrating but rewarding seasons I have ever done. The great thing about spring season and the spring tournament is that it is only for our development. This season allows us to work on skills that need to be improved but can't work on in the fall (it's not a good idea to try and change a lot when you're in season).
I am EVEN MORE EXCITED for the fall for our season!

Famous
Through the Career Development Office, I was able to make an appearance on Fox 5 News last week. Fox was doing a piece on jobs for students in this tough job market. They interviewed the Career Development Office and a few students at Stevens to hear how we're coping with the economy and moving forward in the job search.
