Spring Career Fair at Stevens

Stevens' career fairs have always been winners. They feature top companies offering full-time employment and rewarding summer internships. Prepped and confident Stevens students take advantage of the opportunity to meet impressive companies like MIT Lincoln Lab, Morgan Stanley and Colgate-Palmolive, to name a few. 

With a showing of an estimated 750 students and 100 companies, including newcomers NBC Universal and Major League Baseball, last week's Spring Career Fair was another home run.

Lerna Ekmekcioglu '02 of Morgan Stanley (pictured below) returned to her alma mater to meet students at the career fair.

Grissette Rodriguez, a human resources generalist for global consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser, spoke to attendees interested in the company's award-winning internship program, which places students in product development, analytics and consumer innovation positions.  "Culture-wise, Stevens students are a great fit for our company," she said. "We're looking for hard working students who excel in a numbers-driven environment and who want a challenge. We've had a lot of success with Stevens students. You don't find such candidates from the average applicant pool."

Major League Baseball Recruitment Manager, Bridget Fialo, attended the fair to recruit software development, computer science and security analyst applicants for full-time positions in the company as well as information technology and management information system interns for their business analyst groups. She expressed how important it is for students to have the talent and skills that the position, industry and company demands, but also the willingness and ability to talk to people in the work place. "It's important for students to have had opportunities to present their work and collaborate in diverse settings in college," she said. "I get a sense that Stevens students are well-rounded and amicable in addition to being highly qualified. That's what many employers are looking for."
