New York City television station NY1 recently featured Stevens Institute of Technology's newly-renovated high-speed towing tank, Davidson Laboratory, and interviewed its director, Michael Bruno.

"A towing tank is a facility in which we test the design of boats, ship models, even seaplane models are tested here,” Bruno said. "We do the same thing as is done in a wind tunnel, you've seen airplane studies or automobile studies in a wind tunnel, we do the same thing here but rather than move water across the scale model of a boat, we pull the model of a boat or tow it."
