Greetings from New England! I have been on the road a lot this fall recruiting for Stevens in the New England area and have met some really great students! When I attend college fairs, I tend to get asked a lot of questions about Stevens and it makes me wonder exactly how many of you readers are wondering the same things.
What I want to remind you all in this post is that if you have a question, I would be glad to answer it on my blog! So, I am inviting you all to post your questions on my blog so that I can answer them for you and for everyone!
Also, don't be afraid to post a comment. Whether it's a question, a great experience on our campus, something that you would have liked to do during your visit but didn't have the opportunity to do, or even a great interview that you had with one of our admissions counselors, your comments are greatly appreciated.
I look forward to hearing some feedback from you!!!
love this print it would be perfect in my room

This course has become particularly popular because of the recent demand in the industry for technology management along with people management. I think that type of program is really very admirable.

I was wondering on what criteria does the admission committee for the ACCELERATED 7 YEAR MED PROGRAM, use to judge the applicants? And what is the best way to make yourself stand out in order to get accepted? Thank you!

I am really considering transferring to Stevens from UMD in Collage Park Maryland but I really like the mild winters here. Do you get extended periods of severe weather?

We accept 48% of our overall applicants.
Stevens offers Fall and Spring semesters which are the typical 15 week semester. As well as two 8-week Summer Sessions and an accelerated Winter Intersession (typically 3-4 weeks). They can typcially see the semester calendars at http://www.stevens.edu/registrar/.

As well I have a couple questions about Stevens and the admissions criteria. How many students are generally accepted? Is the academic year flexible with semesters or is set permanently and unalterable in terms of calendar dates?

1.) The accelerated program is a 7-yr program: 3 years at Stevens and 4 years at UMDNJ;
2.) The MD is recognized by UMDNJ and the BS is from Stevens. Once the Student completes the first year at UMDNJ, they will receive their BS from Stevens;
3.) Students are Chemical-Biology majors at Stevens. Students must maintain a 3.4 GPA at Stevens in order to proceed into the accelerated program and have earned a "satisfactory score" on the MCAT;
4.) Tuition is the same for out-of-state students since Stevens is private. Scholarships from Stevens are typically good for 8 semesters;
5.) The application deadline is January 1st;
We will be posting more on this topic on the blog soon. Stay tuned!

I read the criteria for accelerated medicine program for undergrads. My questions are:
1) Typically how many years does it take in the accelerated program to receive BS/MD degrees?
2) Which college offers MD Degree?
3) What are the requirements during the first 3-4 years to stay-in the program? e.g. MCAT scores, GPA etc.
4) What is the out of state tuition, and scholarships (if any)?
5) Is there a separate application for BS/MD applicants? What is the deadline?
6) Approximately how many students apply that meet your published criteria and how many get accepted?
